How to withdraw Litecoin (LTC) to your wallet safely

· 3 min read

To withdraw Litecoin, copy a receiving address from your own LTC wallet, check that it is a Litecoin address on the Litecoin network (it usually starts with ltc1, L or M), paste it in the withdrawal form, confirm the amount and wait for network confirmations — usually a few minutes.

Why Litecoin is a good first coin to withdraw

Litecoin (LTC) is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies. It was built for fast, cheap payments: a new block is added about every 2.5 minutes, and a normal transfer usually costs a fraction of a cent in network fees. That makes it a practical choice for small withdrawals, where a Bitcoin fee could take a noticeable part of the amount.

Step 1 — Get a Litecoin wallet

You need a wallet that you control and that supports Litecoin. Common choices:

TypeExamplesGood for
Mobile walletTrust Wallet, Exodus, LitewalletEveryday use, beginners
Exchange accountBinance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKXSelling LTC for local money
Hardware walletLedger, TrezorLarger amounts, long-term storage
Full nodeLitecoin CoreAdvanced users

If you plan to convert LTC to your local currency, withdrawing straight to an exchange account can save a step. If you plan to hold it, a wallet where only you have the recovery phrase is safer.

Step 2 — Copy the right receiving address

In your wallet, open Litecoin → Receive and copy the address. On an exchange, open Deposit → LTC and pick the Litecoin network.

Litecoin addresses come in a few formats. All of these are valid on the Litecoin network:

Starts withFormatNotes
ltc1q…Native SegWit (Bech32)Most common today, lowest fees
L…LegacyOlder but still fine
M…Script (P2SH)Used by some exchanges and multisig
3…Old script formatDeprecated for LTC; some services no longer accept it
ltcmweb1…MWEB (private)Only if the sending service supports MWEB

You can paste any address into the free crypto address checker to see which coin and format it belongs to before you send.

Step 3 — Check the network (the most common mistake)

Some exchanges list Litecoin on several networks, for example Litecoin (LTC) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). The BEP20 version is a token that lives on a different blockchain and uses addresses that start with 0x.

When you withdraw from AiBio.Store, the coin is sent on its own network (Litecoin on Litecoin). So on the receiving side, always choose the Litecoin / LTC network. Coins sent to an address on the wrong network may be lost.

Litecoin does not use a memo or tag. If an exchange asks for one, you have probably picked the wrong network.

Step 4 — Enter the withdrawal

In your Room open Wallet → Withdraw, then:

  1. Choose LTC.
  2. Enter the amount (in USD). The form shows the minimum and the network fee.
  3. Paste your address. Compare the first and last 4–6 characters with the one in your wallet — clipboard malware can swap addresses.
  4. Confirm.

Some withdrawals are sent within minutes; others are checked by the team first. Either way, the status appears in your Wallet history.

Step 5 — Wait for confirmations

After the transfer is broadcast, it appears in your wallet as pending. Each new block adds one confirmation. Mobile wallets usually show the coins after the first confirmation (a few minutes). Exchanges often wait for about 6 confirmations — roughly 15 minutes — before crediting your account.

If you want to follow it, paste the transaction ID (TX) from your history into a Litecoin block explorer such as Blockchair or the explorer inside your wallet.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

  • Wrong network: choose Litecoin (LTC), not BEP20 or another chain.
  • Typing the address by hand: always copy and paste, then compare the start and end.
  • Old address formats: if a service rejects a 3… address, use a new ltc1… or M… address instead.
  • Sending to a deposit address that expired: some exchanges rotate deposit addresses — copy a fresh one each time.
  • Forgetting the fee: the amount received equals the amount sent minus the network fee.

After it arrives

LTC in your wallet can be held, sent to someone, or sold on an exchange for your local currency. Prices change quickly, so the value in your currency can differ from the USD amount you withdrew. To see how price changes affect a trade, try the crypto profit calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Litecoin withdrawal take?

Once it is sent, one Litecoin block takes about 2.5 minutes, so most wallets show it within a few minutes. Exchanges that wait for 6 confirmations usually credit it in about 15 minutes.

What is the fee to withdraw Litecoin?

The Litecoin network fee is usually a fraction of a cent. The exact fee and the minimum amount are shown in the withdrawal form before you confirm.

Can I cancel a Litecoin transfer?

No. Once a transaction is broadcast to the network it cannot be reversed. If a withdrawal fails before it is sent (for example, an invalid address), the amount returns to your balance.

Which address format should I use?

Use the address your wallet gives you. Native SegWit addresses that start with ltc1 are the most widely supported and have the lowest fees.

I sent LTC on the wrong network. What now?

Contact the receiving wallet or exchange with the transaction ID. Recovery is sometimes possible but not guaranteed, which is why checking the network before you send matters.
